Ontario Tech University seeks a Dean of the Faculty of Science.As the Chief Academic Officer of the Faculty, the Dean plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the Faculty, working closely with the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, as well as other members of the senior leadership team, to align its goals with the overall strategic objectives of the university.
They also act as an ambassador for the Faculty, dedicating time to public-facing initiatives and building relationships within the community, in addition to overseeing academic programs, the budget, and operations.
The Dean is committed to elevating the research profile of the Faculty, promoting a culture of scholarly excellence, and contributing to the advancement of knowledge within the academic community.
The Dean should understand and will prioritize the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Finally, the Dean is ultimately responsible for student success and ensuring a positive student experience.- _________________________________
