Grade 1 Teacher (Term Contract - 2.0 Positions)

The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum.

Job Description:

  • Seeking two competent, confident, motivated individuals for Grade One Teacher positions on a term contract at Father Megret Elementary School (FMES) in Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan.
  • Provide strong interpersonal skills, commitment to project-based learning, and create an enthusiastic learning environment.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Establish clear instructional direction within Denesuline culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or equivalent.
  • Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate eligibility.
  • Experience in teaching First Nations students advantageous.
  • First Aid Certification beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be patient, flexible, observant, and passionate.
  • Effective communication skills and holistic child development focus.
