Allied is looking for a

Coordinator, Corporate Planning and Sustainability to join our team in Toronto.

In the role of Coordinator, Corporate Planning and Sustainability, you will champion Allied's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities by helping our organization achieve its ESG-related goals and communicating our performance to all stakeholders.

You will also play a fundamental role in managing our submissions to international frameworks like GRESB.


By supporting Allied in achieving its strategic and ESG-related goals, you will help strengthen Allied's relationships with users, investors and employees in a manner that demonstrates our continuous contribution to sustainable cities and culture.

What will you do?:

  • Collaborate across departments to collect environmental performance data and social impact metrics and support the standardization of processes and templates for efficient data collection.
  • Manage Allied's annual GRESB submission.
  • Oversee submissions and ESG reporting to align with international disclosure frameworks such as Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), Task Force on Climaterelated Financial Disclosures (TCFD), United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
  • Assist with the development and publication of Allied's annual ESG Report.
  • ESG Programming_
  • Support various teams on the implementation of their ESG programs such as energy, carbon, waste and water reduction targets, Allied's Equity Diversity and Inclusion journey and Allied's transitional housing program, among others.
  • Support the integration of climate risk throughout all business functions.
  • Support the enhancement of our user engagement program, specifically in relation to our ESG initiatives and goals.
  • Conduct research on ESGrelated topics, new technologies and innovations to help keep the team informed on current industry trends and best practices related to ESG and sustainability.
  • Bring forward and develop ideas to enhance our social frameworks and programs.
  • Communication and Training_
  • Lead and support companywide ESGrelated training (e.g. GRESB and climate risk) for internal team members.
  • Engage with team members and committees who are interested in enhancing our ESG programming.
  • Manage Allied's Photo Library and historical database.
  • Administrative Support_
  • Support the Corporate Planning and Sustainability team with important administrative tasks, including presentations, meetings and invoicing.

What are we looking for?:

  • One to two years of relevant work experience in the sustainability sector.
  • A postsecondary degree in a related field (i.e. environmental science, sustainability).
  • Exceptional attention to detail with excellent communication, collaboration, organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver clear and streamlined processes with a passion for excellence by always looking for ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Proven analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly learn, navigate and execute on new digital platforms.
  • Excellent research capabilities with an attitude for continuous learning in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • A 'doer' with a strong passion to drive execution and rollout of initiatives.
  • Would be an asset_
  • Experience working on GRESB submissions.
  • Knowledge of reporting frameworks such as GRESB, Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and TCFD.
  • Experience with event planning or program creation.
  • Experience with report writing.
  • Exposure to real estate, urban issues and/or a publicly traded organization.
