Donut Monster is a specialty donut producer that makes fresh, from-scratch donuts at our shop on Locke Street in Hamilton.

We are looking for a Head Supervisor to join our leadership team. The Head Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager (OM), and will assist in managing Front of House staff.

They will assist the OM in creating the weekly schedule, perform inventory management and ordering, participate in performance reviews, deliver disciplinary action, assist in special event planning, and more.

The Head Supervisor will be expected to respond to sick calls during the OM's scheduled days off. All other times, the OM will cover sick calls.


The Head Supervisor will oversee staff on the floor, perform EOD duties during closing shifts, and generally help run the day-to-day operations of the shop.

The Head Supervisor will also serves customers, prepares beverages, and pack donuts.

This position will be 5 days a week, 34-40 hours.

Hourly wage begins at $19.85 plus tips (approximately $3.50 to $4.00 an hour), with regular reviews and merit increases, along with a comprehensive benefits plan available after successful completion of the probationary period.

In August, the starting wage for this position will rise to 20.50 an hour. There is some flexibility with the schedule but full availability on Sundays and Mondays is required.


During the OM's vacations, or during illness or emergency, the Head Supervisor will assume managerial duties, and be paid an Acting Manager wage, starting at $21.15, and going up in tandem with the regular hourly wage.


Responsibilities

  • Is a champion of the company culture in interactions with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Supervises staff on shift, i.e. running breaks and assigning tasks, responding to and resolving customer issues, training staff, ensuring compliance with all policies, and performing EOD cash outs.
  • Politely and professionally serves customers, setting a high expectation for customer service for other staff.
  • Provide feedback on staff performance to upper management, resolve conflicts between staff members, and deliver corrective action for minor and moderate infractions.
  • Proactively trains staff to maintain and uphold all company policies and ensure quality of service.
  • Works with bakery and fellow supervisors to ensure necessary ingredients for any FOH drinks are ordered and/or prepared, as well as ensuring that quantities are monitored and maintained throughout the week by baristas.
