We are looking to hire a highly-skilled and professional glass technician to measure, cut, and install glass fittings in homes and businesses; repair or replace the windshields as well as door and quarter glasses on customers' vehicles.


A glass technician's responsibilities include working with blueprints to cut glass to specifications, assembling and fitting glass in shop windows, sliding doors, display cases, bathroom units, and other home or commercial structures.

Notifying customers of various issues that may affect glass installation, removing damaged glass without causing further damage to customers' vehicles, completing all necessary paperwork, and keeping damaged glass areas moisture-free during repairs.

You should also be able to inspect windshields and windows to determine whether the glass should be repaired or replaced.


To be successful as a glass technician, you should have detailed knowledge of the glass manufacturing and cutting process, have good eye-hand coordination, be able to lift heavy objects, demonstrate sound mechanical skills and adhere to all health and safety regulations when using hazardous materials and have excellent communication skills.

Glass Technician Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting blueprints to determine the shape, size, color and thickness of glass for installation procedures.
  • Measuring and marking lines or patterns on glass before cutting.
  • Cutting glass to size and specifications in the workshop and on the job site.
  • Measuring, cutting and fitting antiglare film to glass if required.
  • Loading glass or mirror fittings onto delivery trucks for transport to job site.
  • Driving trucks to job sites and unloading glass and materials.
  • Fabricating and installing moldings for glass installation.
  • Cutting and removing broken glass prior to new installation.
  • Cleaning the job area once glass has been installed and the client is satisfied.
  • Using primer to prime all damaged areas of windshields and car windows.
  • Traveling to various locations to assess as well as repair or replace customers' windshields and windows.
  • Removing moldings, wipers, screws, bolts, and clips before glass installation and repairs and replacing them thereafter.
  • Injecting resin into small chips or cracks and heating the damaged areas using a heat source.
  • Identifying issues that may affect glass installation, such as rust or vehicle damage.
  • Removing all dirt and debris from windshields and windows before beginning repair or weatherproofing treatments.
  • Using clips, moldings, and adhesives to affix customcut glass to customers' vehicles.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork as well as Insurance claims

Glazier Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • 3+ years working as a glazier or commercial glazier.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent handeye coordination.
  • Sound knowledge of automotive glass repair and installation techniques.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations.
