The Position
As the Channel Manager for the Animal Category, reporting directly to the Senior Marketing Manager, you hold a pivotal role within our organization. Collaborating closely with Global Product Managers, Sales Account Managers, and the Supply Chain team, your core responsibilities include analyzing, developing, executing, and communicating channel-specific strategies, ensuring seamless alignment with the global product vision.
The Channel Manager oversees all aspects related to channel product offerings, packaging, market insights, product content management, pricing strategies, and more.
Responsibilities
- Market Research: Stay informed on consumer trends, monitor competition, and gather insights to drive product enhancements and new developments.
- Global Marketing Team: Collaborate with global product management for effective assortment planning and sharing best practices from Wahl subsidiaries.
- Channel Management: Take charge of product optimization, launch planning, negotiations, and profitability strategies.
- Product Messaging: Coordinate on creative packaging and online content with relevant team members.
- Product Launches and Line Reviews: Partner with stakeholders for successful product introductions and line optimizations.
- Program Optimization and Exit Strategy: Constantly evaluate product portfolio effectiveness and profitability.
- Focus on Profitability: Ensure overall category profitability by strategic cost & pricing management.
- Relationships: Maintain positive collaborations across various departments and suppliers.
- Travel: Participate in event planning and visit key locations as needed.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, or related field
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role within a CPG environment
- Specialized experience in the Animal category
- Experience with major accounts like Walmart, Amazon, and others
- Proficiency in E-commerce
Skills
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at problem-solving
- Passionate about business trends and customer behaviors
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities
