ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Distributel is seeking a documentation specialist to join our growing team.

We're looking for someone who's passionate about business processes, product documentation, systems operation and software architecture including other technical processes.

Our team strives to make life easier for those around them in a space that has many interesting challenges yet to be solved.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Provide directions, instructions, and guidance to the information services team.
  • Process documentation requests using best practices and most efficient method.
  • Create effective templates and guidance for development and project management teams.
  • Communicate effectively with management, users, and team members to accomplish related results.
  • Attending and contributing to development and business meetings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Usual business hours
  • Hybrid
  • Resultsoriented with an ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment.

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY USED:

  • Microsoft Office, Jira, Wiki.

CREDENTIALS:

  • Postsecondary education in communications, journalism, computer science or related experience.
  • 5+ years professional documentation and/or technical writing experience.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • English and French required.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write and communicate verbally in English and French to support clients across Canada.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding of software architectural concepts and workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to promote teamwork.
  • Good critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to disseminate information to users.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent skills in schedule management
  • Demonstrates rigor, autonomy, and attention to detail of a job well done.
  • Working knowledge of document processing tools and diagramming.
