  • Must have the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as required

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences (BSW Preferred). A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in human resource management and the ability to supervise a service delivery team, including attendance and performance management, orienting, training, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Leadership experience in a social service delivery environment, which includes managing administration of programs, managing service delivery to clients, and planning and evaluation of services delivered to clients.
  • Case management experience in a social services setting.
  • Experience with the interpretation, evaluation, and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, foster, and maintain respectful relationships with diverse external and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to synthesize information, make recommendations, and decisions.
  • Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise, and organized manner for a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create a variety of documents and reports for various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines.

Desired:

  • Experience in financial management activities, including planning, budgeting, and/or expenditure control for operational programs.
  • Knowledge of The Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act, The Social Services Administration Act, The Manitoba Assistance Act, The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

Duties: Reporting to the Regional Director, the Social Services Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support in a range of management and supervisory activities associated with policy interpretation, case management, program recommendations, operational planning, financial management, and administration. The program manager provides knowledge and direction for crisis management, intervention, and issue resolution in the provision of supports and services.


Areas of supports and services include Community Living disability Services, Employment and Income Assistance, and non-legislated programs: Children's disability Services.
