Job Description:

Consistently demonstrate PenFinancial values and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Develop and implement learning and development strategies, including programs and initiatives such as planning, developing and implementing learning plans, employee training programs and materials and managing learning and development programs.

Through learning programs and training efforts, support the objective to "create a personal member experience" and enhance employee engagement, knowledge, skills, quality of work ("first time right") and productivity to have a measurable impact on the success of PenFinancial.


Differentiating Accountabilities:

  • Analyze organizational gaps to identify training needs and opportunities for learning and development solutions.
  • Contribute training and development expertise to credit union projects.
  • Design training solutions that align with adult learning methodologies and support PenFinancial goals and initiatives. Solutions may include traditional inperson training, webinars (live or prerecorded), elearning, or blended learning.
  • Ensure applicable training logistics are planned, communicated and executed.
  • Deliver training for new and existing employees' inperson or virtually.
  • Ensure training initiatives are properly communicated to employees and that employees are given fair timelines to complete training.
  • Create a supportive learning environment aligned with PenFinancial's values and culture.
  • Lead employee onboarding including refreshing content to ensure an outstanding employee experience including ensuring that overall value and benefits are communicated with enthusiasm, understood and supported.
  • Evaluate the delivery and effectiveness of training initiatives and programs, measuring the impact of training on performance improvement. Amend program content or delivery based on feedback obtained.
  • Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency and relevance of training services.
  • Act as expert for employees and managers in regards to learning and development and as the primary training a resource for members of the HR team.
  • Responsible for management of Learning Management System (LMS) and partnership with LMS provider.
  • Approve Educational Requests for external courses within budget guidelines and communicate with employees.
  • Maintain and create training plans and learning pathways including communication to employees.
  • Maintain and create People Plans and support succession planning for high potential employees.
  • As a part of the Human Resources department, provide human resources expertise, assistance and guidance to the organization and support for HR functions.
  • Administer all aspects of Canada Ontario Job Training Grant (COJT).
  • Perform other assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour or Adult Education
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in adult education and facilitation
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive learning and development experience including online delivery methods

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and of a wide range of training methods, techniques and formats.
