Industrial Coater

We are currently looking for an industrial coater and/or painter for our Leduc facility.

The primary role of the Industrial coater/painter is for tending to and operating machines that spray/coat products with paint and or powder.

Responsibilities will include:
identifying potential safety hazards, selecting or mixing the appropriate paint.

The industrial coater and/or painter will inspect surfaces for contamination prior to coating and identify and employ methods that will reduce exposure to hazardous chemicals from the paint.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Inspect finished workpieces to ensure conformance to quality specifications.
• Operate handheld spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items or items
• Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.
• Operate spray equipment to build up worn or damaged parts or to bond protective or decorative coatings on various objects.
• May tend ovens which cure linings/coatings.
• Performs all duties in accordance with Global Fusion Coating Inc. safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
• Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working as an industrial coater and/or painter.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 25 pounds.
• Must be able to distinguish colours.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) and working knowledge of English.
• Positive attitude, attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
• An effective team player participating in end of shift clean up to ensure a clean and tidy work area.
• Attend and participate in morning meetings; have a good knowledge of all company safety programs procedures, use of workplace PPE and adhere to all of these.
• Valid Safety Certifications include CSTS'09/20, First Aid, WHMIS, NACE Certification (an asset) LSE (an asset).
