Position Description


This position will be based in Brantford, Canada for the Afternoon Shift (3PM to 11PM) The Oil Room / Aqueous room Operator is to work safely by observing all safety rules, including proper utilization of lock out tag out including following safe forklift operating procedures.

The Oil Room / Aqueous room Operator will work under the direction of the Production Supervisor. Responsible for all aspects of process operations including CIP, Change

  • Overs, Oil offloading, Oil testing, paperwork (SAP transactions), Cocktail making, AQ batching, Premix batching, staging raw material, troubleshooting according to an established procedure, at a set pace while adhering to all safety regulations. Inspects product and completes required quality checks and necessary forms.

Core Responsibilities:

Operational Activities

  • Operate machine(s), keeping watch for any malfunction. Is responsible for maintaining quality and quantity of product as set by Quality Assurance and packaging Production Standards.
  • Inspect product according to quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues as required. For serious abnormalities liaise with maintenance or Supervisors to ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage changeovers as necessary, including work requiring use of basic hand tools.
  • Maintain a high degree of personal hygiene and keeps work area in a clean and sanitary condition in compliance with GMP Standards.
  • Perform SPC functions as indicated on quality check sheets to ensure product is maintained within standards.
  • Ensure an adequate material supply is always on the line (i.e., totes, monos, small ingredients, etc.) and that all machines are properly loaded.
  • Ensure that all machines' safety guards are in place and operational.
  • Conducts effective handover activities and records accurately events that have occurred during shift and review schedule with previous shift. Discuss any changes made to the schedule and review any issues.
  • Coordinate with Material Planners to receive and understand the daily and weekly oil requirements.
  • Ensure that oils received are entered and received in SAP.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor to ensure the availability of the required oils for production.
  • Report any oilrelated discrepancies to the Production Supervisor.
  • Assures good interactions with co
- workers and with other functions of the company. Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace.

  • Refers to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function, or assignment before commencing work.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
  • Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions, and requirements.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.
  • Carries out forklift checks to ensure that it is clean and in a safe condition per the established procedure.
  • Leading 5s activities and helping push forward the overall TPM agenda. Working on focused improvements and being an active member of a cell team responsible for the overall safety, quality, waste, and efficiency for a specific area
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • An awareness of how to use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area; provides description of problems and can provide monitoring of process or line issues.
  • May be required to complete or contribute to EWO and associated paperwork.

Tools and Equipment

  • Licensed operation of required powered industrial vehicles including forklift.
  • Basic computer skills to work with SAP.
  • Cleaning supplies include but are not limited to: chemical cleaning agents, towels, squeegee, brushes, dust pans, brooms, mops, etc

About you

Minimum Requirements:

  • 23 years' experience in manufacturing environment required; food production environment preferred.
  • Prior SAP experience required.
  • Forklift experience is an asset; however, certification is not required will train in house.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and work well within a team environment.
