About The Home:

Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home is a 60-bed long-term care facility located in north Burlington. Mount Nemo has a rich history and has been serving the community since 1985. The Home bases its care on Christian principles utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach.

This position is not on a bus route; applicants must have reliable access to their own transportation.

About This Position:


PSWs are an active member of the multidisciplinary team and are responsible for assisting residents with their activities of daily living.

All duties are carried out in accordance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Nursing Department policies and procedures.

This position reports to the Director of Resident Care.

This position is for evening shifts (3:00-11:00pm), working 75 hours bi-weekly.

the listed wage does
not include the additional $3/hour Permanent Wage Enhancement that is generously funded by the Ministry of Long-Term Care.


Duties:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, transfers, toileting, mealtimes, etc.
  • Complete required electronic documentation
  • Participate in audits and quality assurance checks
  • Be an active participant at resident care meetings
  • Attend staff meetings and complete inservice educational programs
  • Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by Director of Resident Care and/or Charge Nurse

This Role Gives you the Opportunity to:

  • Work in a smaller Home, allowing you to have increased focus on residents and families
  • Work closely in an interdisciplinary team, recognizing the value of all team members

Qualifications:

  • Have successfully completed a Personal Support Worker training program, recognized by the Ministry of Long Term Care; OR be an RN or RPN, or a student enrolled in an RN or RPN program, with adequate skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a PSW
  • Be able to read and understand English and be capable of following oral and written instructions thoroughly
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Be able to perform the following physical demands: standing/walking for extended periods of time; pushing/pulling; reaching, predominantly forward between waist and shoulder; lifting/guiding weighted items
  • Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Have at least
    two doses of a COVID10 vaccine

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Salary:
From $21.64 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift

Supplemental pay types:
