JOB OVERVIEW:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Darbying the wall with proper tools and filling in all low spots.
  • Knowledge on different types of preparation, finishing and repair work on concrete surfaces or concrete work, based on work orders, architectural or structural plans and specifications.
  • Learning about the attitudes and behaviours required with respect to communication in the workplace, teamwork, employers, competitors and other construction trades.
  • Use of Compliance with occupational health and safety rules the necessary tools and equipment.
  • Cutting level tops of walls.
  • Determination of the grading method, based on the surface, the properties of the concrete and the levelness required.
  • Appropriate use of straight edge and concrete edger.
  • Precise determination of starting point.
  • Determination of areas requiring compaction.
  • Visual verification of the placement of rebars and wire mesh.
  • Proper placement of isolation joints, where necessary.
  • Even spreading concrete using appropriate tools.
  • Proper placement of expansion joints.
  • Reporting of problems and taking of appropriate corrective action, where necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 1year experience in Cement Finishing (preferred).
  • Proven experience as construction worker
  • Active listening and respectful attitude.
  • Worker must be punctual and reliable.
  • Commitment to wearing protective safety gear for heat, noise, and prevention of injury on the job site.
  • Willingness to undertake training if necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Experience in concrete and /or construction.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License (preferred).
  • Able to lift, carry, or shovel objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work long hours outside in all weather conditions, including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Excellent balance and eyehand coordination
  • Able to work individually as well as part of a team.
