The Banquet Captain is a full time position to work under the Food & Beverage department. This position is reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager. The working hours will vary from weekdays and weekends and holidays (morning, mid, and evenings shifts).

JOB SUMMARY


As a Banquet Captain, you will ensure that all Banquet standards, policies and procedures are met, and that the ultimate in guest satisfaction is achieved.

The Banquet Captain will be responsible for leading all banquet functions; and by doing so maintaining effective communication with the sales, culinary and banquet teams.

The Banquet Captain will support the Food & Beverage Services Manager and Outlets Manager in other areas of F&B as needed.


RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to):

  • Coordinate food & beverage delivery functions with the Culinary/Banquet team & other banquet team members.
  • Assist with the leadership and supervision of banquet associates (and restaurant associates from time to time) service delivery, and breakdown.
  • Assist Food & Beverage Manager with processing banquet billings/invoices.
  • Ensure department compliance of BEO specifics for every event (linens, chairs, food guarantees, tables, staging, and special items).
  • Respond to guests special requests with creativity and urgency.
  • Ensure followthrough on Banquet standards.
  • Responsible for assisting in the set up and tear down of banquet functions.
  • Responsible for the smooth service of banquet, meeting functions with the assistance of other service personnel.
  • Actively utilizes the Hilton Worldwide University training processes to continually grow and develop.
  • Assists management in all other aspects of Food and Beverage, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2+ years previous experience in a banquet catering and food & beverage environment preferred.
  • Must be well organized and efficient; and enjoy a multitasked environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, clients and the public.
  • Must be computer literate, with knowledge of Word & Excel.
  • Serving It Right Certificate.
  • Must be flexible and available as early as 5am, and as late as 12:00am midnight or later.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Able to take initiative, selfstarter.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 50 lbs., i.e. tables, chairs, chafing dishes.
  • Proven time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and associates.
  • Enthusiastic and "can do" attitude.
  • Professional and polished appearance.
  • Previous Hotel experience would be a definite asset.
