The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the smooth running of Marineland on a day-to-day basis.

This is a key development position in the organization, in which the incumbent develops skills and knowledge working beside the Park Operations Manager and covering for his/her scheduled days off.

This position ensures that all guest expectations are met and surpassed, and is a liaison point in the organization, troubleshooting guest, staff, and operational concerns.

This position is responsible for the presentation of park staff and their work ethic, therefore directly influencing the guest experience and impression of Marineland.

The Operations Supervisor must be committed to developing their skills and abilities, providing exceptional guest services and developing a professional image that conveys to our guests that we are committed to the guest entertainment experience.

Job Description Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all guests and staff in the park
  • Understand and be able to implement the emergency procedures for the entire park including park evacuation
  • Monitor Park facilities for cleanliness and ensure departments have adequate supplies
  • Oversee Park operations on a continuous basis
  • Troubleshoot all issues of concern in a timely effective manner
  • Respond to all guest and staff questions and concerns immediately and professionally
  • Lead by example, mentor staff and build working relationships with department supervisors
  • Ensures employees are wearing proper uniforms
  • Enforce policies and procedures where applicable
  • Any other duties as required by the Owner or Park Operations Manager relating to park business

Qualifications:

  • Education in Hospitality Management considered an asset
  • 23 years of managerial experience in a hospitality setting considered an asset
  • Full G driver's license required
  • Able to lead and motivate staff
  • Ability to effectively make decisions and when to take appropriate action
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Work with a positive attitude, able to multitask, and maintain confidentiality
  • Experience in coaching and counselling team members
  • Knowledge in operations management, crowd control, sales and marketing, large scale parking, first aid, emergency situations, and various hospitality roles
  • Able to interact with outside agencies on behalf of the park
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to support a 7 day a week operation
