The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supramunicipal body with jurisdiction over the territory of Québec
located north of the 55th parallel, is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to work in the capacity of:

Team Leader - Implementation and Facilities Specialist

(Permanent - Full time on rotation)
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Tamaani and working closely with the other employees of the Department,
the Team Leader - Implementation Facilities specialist ensures the management and monitoring of infrastructure

for all sites as well as for the different technologies used by Tamaani.***
The duties and responsibilities of the Team Leader - Implementation and Facilities Specialist include:
  • Perform the tasks of the Implementation and Facilities Specialist when required;
  • Assist in the creation, implementation and revision of Tamaani policies and guidelines
  • Plan and manage the implementation of Tamaani FTTH
  • Ensure the overall monitoring of projects for project owners: compliance with deadlines, budgets, rules
and standards, project modifications, project inspections by professionals, payments, financing,
warrantees, etc.;

  • Coordinate and supervise the design of the expansion of the FTTH, with the consultants and the stake
holders and update documents and procedures for expansion projects;

  • Assist the Assistantdirector with coordination and organisation of the work of Implementation facilities
specialists

  • Make recommendations to the Assistant Director on infrastructure changes and future requirements
  • Coordinate and carry out the preparation of tender documents
  • Review standardization and procedures for installations of the FTTH
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan
  • Plan the work of implementation facilities specialists and follow up on the work to be performed
  • Plan schedules and necessary resources in cooperation with the assistant director
  • Conduct weekly reviews of installations and followup with technicians as necessary
  • Perform any other duties as required

Requirements:

- must be able to read ,interpret and make changes on fiber optic plans for construction and fusion- knowledge of FTTH installation standards and regulations
- must master the various elements of an FTTH network to be able to provide training to technicians in the field.
- knowledge of tools and techniques for troubleshooting on FTTH
- must be able to identify anomalies and deficiencies that could damage or impair FTTH operation

  • Possess at least three (3) years of relevant progressive work experience as project manager or coordinator
- and giving technical assistance;
  • Ability to process and maintain several files simultaneously in a structured and organized manner;
  • Initiative, independent and capacity for teamwork;
  • Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English and


 French
  • Solid working knowledge of _Microsoft Office_, as well as other specialized software (_AutoCAD_, etc.);
  • Working knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera P6 is a strong asset;
  • Available to travel frequently in Nunavik;

Work experience North of 55th parallel is a definite asset.

  • Work schedule and place of work: 63 rotation schedule: 6 weeks working in the Northern Villages (52.5 hours
weekly), followed by 3 weeks paid leave (35 hours weekly)

**OR

  • Work schedule and place of work: 42 rotation schedule: 4 weeks working in the Northern Villages, followed by
2 weeks paid leave (35 hours weekly);

Place of work:
Nunavik

Salary:
Minimum $60 205 and maximum $ annually (Class 10).

Travel expenses paid, while in Nunavik;

Vacation: 20 days/year;

Statutory Holidays: 20 days including 10 days during Christmas
