Highlights:

JC is a 46-year-old man looking for people to support him in his new home. J's interests include Animals, collectibles, sports, travel, thrifting, listening to music, movies, video games, cars, fishing, and good food. He likes to explore places and meet people.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Listen to, build relationships, honour choices of, take direction from & sincerely support individual served.
  • Promote the dignity and selfesteem of J by assisting them to achieve their full potential.
  • Assist J to carry out daytoday activities, and other routines.
  • Implement Individual Service Plans consistently.
  • Communicate respectfully, professionally and effectively with families, professional supports and members of the public.

CSW:
$23.50/hour to $25.75/hour

Probation
3 Months

Driving Requirement
Driver's license (Class 5); Having a driver's license and vehicle are assets, but not required. Those who use vehicles while providing support will be reimbursed for kilometres.

Preferred Training or Experience

Qualities of the preferred supporter:
Someone who is calm, confident, friendly, respectful, understanding, and organized. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to respectfully state your boundaries are also important.

It's important to put an emphasis on building a trusting relationship with this person and help him to guide his own support services as best as he can.

Experience in the human services sector is an asset, but not required.

MANDT training preferred. Active support would be helpful. Experience providing support is an asset.
