DUTIES OF THE STOCKROOM MANAGER

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • To set the expectations of how to operate the stockroom with the team
a. To guide each member of the team in all their tasks.
b. To motivate the team in their day to day work in order to maximize productivity and results.

c. To lead by example and to work along side the team to complete tasks.

  • To organize and distribute tasks and positions to each member of the team.
a. To undertake the stockroom tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner.
b. To deal with all unforeseen situations in order to optimize the workforce.

  • To communicate actively with the team, according to requirements.
a. To hold daily meetings to explain targets and deadlines and give information on priorities.

To ensure team receives weekly information on store sales targets, product information and other matters of interest for the team.


  • To participate in the recruitment of personnel in an active and optimal manner.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

  • To plan the required measures in order to reach stockroom deadlines and targets.

  • To analyze and review stockroom indicators and performance in order to improve efficiency and store results.
a. To have current knowledge of key performance indicators

  • Conversion (CVR), Units per Transaction (UPT), Average Dollar transaction (ADT) and how the stockroom team can impact them.
  • To optimize resources and minimize expenses. e.g. optimization of talent ( productivity)
5. to consistently prioritize tasks and deadlines in the context of global business and commercial needs.

a. Delegates tasks and responsibilities effectively to the team.

  • Supporting, communicating, sharing best practices and information with the other Mango stockroom managers.

STOCKROOM MANAGEMENT

  • To ensure deadlines are met in unloading boxes and organizing stock deliveries.
a. To open the boxes received in an organized and systematic manner, according to store needs.

  • To guarantee the correct receipt of merchandise with the delivery driver and to confirm with Head Office that all deliveries are received and up to date, or to report on any pending/ outstanding boxes to be received.
a. Is able to communicate with Head Office and delivery company on status of shipment.

  • To report to the Store Manager on any matters relevant to operating the stockroom.
  • To ensure the stockroom team delivers replenishment requirements as per company guidelines
a. To prepare garments for display (labelling, fitting alarms, prices, etc.).

  • To be able to deal with individual store requests quickly and efficiently
  • To constantly keep updated stock levels and new garments pending to enter the stockroom.
  • To make sure shelves are kept tidy, making it easier to find garments and keeping a high standard stockroom condition.
  • To carry out the re-labelling of garments as required (sale period, promotions, etc.).
  • To reorganize stockroom space in an optimal manner according to the stage of the season and store needs - start of the season, sale period, etc.
  • To work in collaboration with the Store Manager to ensure correct end of season returns, according to company guideline
