As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our team in Kanata, Ontario.


Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and implement effective financial controls and procedures.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and business plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local financial regulations.
  • Coordinate and oversee the Year End process.
  • Implement and maintain accounting systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide training and support to the finance team to ensure continuous professional development.
  • Lead the budgeting process, ensuring accurate and comprehensive budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Provide detailed financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisionmaking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing financial controls and procedures.
  • Aboveaverage computer skills, with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in ecommerce is considered an asset.
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
