What You Will Do:


Contribute to ongoing efforts in Sustainability and ESG strategy and reporting, including production of innovative narratives and graphics showing how responsible mining generates positive health and community outcomes, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.


The Opportunity:


A placement at Kinross Gold Corporation is a unique opportunity to be exposed to different disciplines within the company, gain site experience or preparation for a role at site all while working with a team and company that stands behind their environmental values.

Additionally, working from our corporate office gives you context about our sites and how they all tie into the broader portfolio, and impact shareholders and the market.

They are very hands-on and take mentorship seriously, so you will receive a lot of support, guidance, and training to gain the skills you need to get the job done.

By the end of your internship, you will have developed tangible environmental, planning and business skills that will help you get the most out of your final year(s) of university and set a meaningful foundation for your career post-graduation.


Must Haves:

  • 2nd to 4th year student studying a degree in an analytical discipline or University of Toronto Master of Science in Sustainability Management Class of 202 Lodgings in Toronto for the duration of the placement
  • Up to date knowledge about Sustainability, including key society issues and how these affect the corporate sector
  • Strong time management skills; the ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of socioeconomic data analysis and graphics

Nice to Haves:

  • Language skills in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Spanish
  • Experience working with culturally diverse teams
  • Active extracurriculars
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite

Our Approach to COVID-19:
