**Job Summary**
Under the responsibility of the operations and maintenance foreman, the operator is responsible, among other things, for operating various machinery, performing manual work and light mechanics. They are also responsible for the condition of the equipment they use. They must demonstrate good organizational skills and maintain interpersonal relationships.

**Qualifications**
**Education**:

- Holds a high school diploma
- Combination of training or experience deemed equivalent

**Experience**:

- Experience in installing municipal water, sewer, and street infrastructure

**Skills**:

- Interpersonal relations
- Results-oriented
- Time management
- Teamwork

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as: loader and excavator
- Be able to communicate in both official languages (French and English) spoken and written
- Able to complete various reports in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to perform diverse work
- Have a good ability to organize and plan work
- Ability to interpret guidelines wisely and act accordingly
- Be able to do manual work
- Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be able to take initiative

**Working conditions and environment**:

- Two (2) full-time (40 hours per week), Temporary positions (two (2) years)
- Class 1 driver's license

**Tasks and responsibilities**
- Be responsible for and maintain the equipment used by the operator.
- Keep equipment clean and presentable.
- Attend and/or make minor mechanical repairs.
- Manage and/or see to any other work as assigned.
- Perform manual work as required or requested.
- Must be qualified, licensed, and able to operate different types of heavy equipment, such as loaders, bulldozers, heavy trucks, excavators, graders, snowplows.
- Must obey all traffic regulations, safety laws and regulations as well as obey municipal by-laws, policies, and procedures.
- Takeover in another sector of the department during an absence or leave.
- Perform any other duties of a similar nature as requested by his/her supervisor according to his/her skills, qualifications, and aptitudes.

**Sommaire du poste**
Sous la responsabilité du contremaître des opérations et maintenance, l'opérateur(trice) est responsable, entre autres, d'opérer diverses machineries, d'effectuer des travaux manuels et de machinerie légère. Il/Elle est aussi responsable de l'état de l'équipement dont il/elle se sert. Il/Elle démontre de bonnes capacités relationnelles et organisationnelles.
**Qualifications requises**
**Éducation**:

- Détient un diplôme d'études secondaires
- Combinaison de formation ou expérience jugée équivalente

**Expérience**:

- Expérience dans l'installation d'infrastructure municipale d'eau, égouts et rues

**Compétences**:

- Relations interpersonnelles

**Connaissances et Habiletés**:

- Aptitude à opérer de l'équipement lourd tel que : chargeuse et excavatrice
- Être capable de communiquer dans les deux langues officielles (français et anglais) parlé et écrit
- Capable de compléter divers rapports de façon claire et concise
- Capacité à effectuer un travail diversifié
- Avoir une bonne capacité d'organisation et de planification du travail
- Facilité d'interpréter judicieusement les directives et d'agir en conséquence
- Être apte à faire du travail manuel
- Avoir une bonne capacité d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes
- Être capable de prendre des initiatives

**Conditions et Environnement de Travail**:

- Deux (2) postes temporaires de deux (2) ans à temps plein (40 heures par semaine)
- Posséder un permis de conduire de classe 1

**Tâches et responsabilités**
- Faire la maintenance et être responsable de l'équipement dont l'opérateur se sert;
- Garder l'équipement propre et présentable;
- Assister à et/ou faire l'entretien et la réparation de mécanique légère;
- Accomplir tout autre travail connexe exigé;
- Exécuter des travaux manuels tel que requis ou demandés;
- Être qualifié, licencié et avoir une aptitude pour opérer différents genres d'équipement lourd, tels que chargeuses, bouteurs (bulldozers), camions lourds, excavatrices, níveleuses (graders), charrues à neige;
- Respecter tous les règlements de circulation, les lois et réglementations de sécurité ainsi qu'obéir aux arrêtés, politiques et procédures municipales;
- Assumer la relève dans un autre secteur du service lors d'une absence ou d'un congé;
- Effectuer toutes tâches reliées et demandées par son superviseur selon ses compétences, ses qualifications, et ses aptitudes.

La durée du contrat : 24 mois

Salaire : 27,84$ à 28,38$ par heure
