The opportunity:

Responsible for the day-to-day Shipping and Receiving operation of the Scotia Plaza complex. Ensure that deliveries reach designated tenants efficiently and safely and that the Loading Dock is maintained in accordance with building Manager and Owner standards.

What you will do:

Perform the various shipping functions as directed by the Lead Supervisor or the Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Receiving Dock (service elevators, tenant deliveries). Deliver incoming goods to tenants' premises. Complete daily traffic log sheets as required. Advise Manager/Supervisor of all incoming and outgoing materials. Acknowledge receipt of all tenant requests for service and respond to all such requests within 30 minutes after receiving request, unless circumstances do not permit a response within this time, in which case a Supervisor and tenant contact must be notified prior to the expiry of this 30 minute period. All tenant complaints must be resolved using building reporting system, documenting in timely manner and in detail the issue and its resolution. Assist with coordination of tenant move-in/move-out, including but not limited to, elevator bookings and elevator inspections. Assist with moving items and furniture for the Complex events and functions. Maintain loading dock equipment, ensure it is in safe operating condition at all times. Collect way-bills for outgoing waste. Ensure Loading area is kept clean and clear of obstacles that can create health and safety hazards. Operate various equipment (forklift, pump trucks, power lifts, and garbage compactor). Maintain cleanliness and security of Receiving Dock area. Must be able to cover vacant shifts within the classification. Annual certification training for sky lifts, Scissor lifts, forklifts etc. is mandatory. Ensure that workshops and all other work areas are being kept safe, clean and tidy state, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical rooms, tenant areas, common areas, and all other areas where work is performed. Ensure that tools and materials are treated in a professional manner and lost or damaged tools are reported to your supervisor. Participate in all training programs as assigned by Management including but not limited to Operations Quarterly and Health & Safety meetings. Perform all online training during scheduled work hours as assigned. Work with outside contractors as directed by Management. Oversee and assist contractors as required. Respond to all building emergencies in a timely manner. Report all emergencies to Security and Management immediately. Other duties as assigned by Management.

Who you are:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCIES

Secondary School Graduation Diploma. Must be a team player in all aspects. Ability to operate all required equipment in loading dock. Certification for Forklifts, Scissor lifts, Sky lift and other equipment that is mandatory. Flexibility in covering vacant shifts if required. Aware of surroundings at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Fast paced environment, repetitive tasks. Move and lift heavy equipment/supplies/items. Perform routine maintenance tasks. Bending, twisting, crouching, climbing and reaching are required. Combination of standing, walking, and sitting (minimal).

Communication & Relationship Skills / Personal Character Traits - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally; mature and self-motivated team player who is committed to personal growth and ethical integrity.

Organizational & Leadership Skills - Ensure Shipping and Receiving records, files and documentation are maintained in orderly, accurate and timely fashion.
