The CYW will work closely with youth with eating disorders and their families to support successful treatment outcomes in the Eating Disorders Program.


CYW will conduct home visits to address barriers to engaging successfully in FBT treatment and provide family with support and coaching.

CYW will support and empower parents in the goals of re-nourishment in the context of FBT treatment. They will provide strategies and guidance to parents to successfully support their child before, during and after meal times. The CYW will also support patients and families as they work towards developing and meeting mental health goals. The CYW will work closely with Pediatricians, Child Psychiatrists, Therapists, Dietitians and Nurse Practitioners in collaboration on treatment planning.

They will co-facilitate psychoeducational and treatment groups within the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Program.

Qualifications

Halton Healthcare is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.


  • CYW diploma or degree from a recognized community college or university.
  • Must have knowledge and/or skills in DBT, EFFT and FBT.
  • Must have knowledge and skills in group design, development and implementation
  • 35 years of child and adolescent experience preferably in the hospital setting
  • Must have knowledge of children's psychosocial development
  • Able to work independently and effectively within a team.
  • Must have competency in assessing risk issues and being able to address concerns within the community and schools
  • Experience in working with high conflict families and the skill set in deescalating conflict.
  • Understanding of the school system and support within the Halton community.
  • Must have computer skills (Word Processing)
  • Satisfactory employment and good attendance record

Salary:
$ $40.770 per hour
