Duties:

  • Involved in greenhouse work including planting, crossing and harvesting.
  • Involved in marker work including sampling leaf tissue and DNA extraction.
  • Involved in production of doubledhaploid canola B. juncea Ogura cms restorer lines via microspore culture.

Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in plant science OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

Experience in assisting with research activities as they relate to plant breeding.
Experience in conducting laboratory experiments.

Occupational Certification:
Possession of a valid pesticide applicator certificate.

Experience:

Experience breeding and conducting research with Brassica crops or related species (Sinapis alba).

  • Possession of a valid, class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license, or other provincial/territorial equivalency.

  • Known allergies must be controlled through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication and must not impinge upon the duties to be performed.
