As a Medical Supplies & Equipment Commercial Sales Manager at the North West Company (NWC), you will Manage the day-to-day operations of the B2B medical supplies and equipment business and lead the expansion to NWC communities across Canada.

Your Role:

Key Account Management & Sales

  • Identify, canvas, and develop account relationships in NWC communities across the country. Ensure opportunity completion and management. Engage in sales initiatives by promoting new products and marketing programs.
  • Identify key opinion leaders and decision makers within the industry and build effective working relationships.
  • Develop effective working relationships with vendors to ensure NWC is receiving the best pricing available to be competitive in the market place.
  • Conduct research within key markets to identify regional competitors, potential new accounts and market gaps set out to grow overall profitable revenue in line with company goals.
  • Identify and attend key industry events to promote the NWC MSE business.
  • Take the lead to identify and respond to RFPs while working with the Director, Business Development, HP&S, to negotiate contracts.

P&L & Monthly Reporting

  • Responsible for achieving sales revenue and business segment operating margin budget.
  • Monitor Accounts Payable/Receivable.
  • Submitting and reviewing sales data for each account in a timely fashion to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Inventory management oversight, with a focus on efficiencies (stock levels, shipping, receiving, costs)

Developing Standard Operating Procedures & Structure

  • Helping to determine and outline best practices working alongside the MSE Commercial Sales Supervisor.
  • Develop a growing organizational structure that places an emphasis on efficiency and scalability to ensure the growing needs of our customers.
  • Staff management: helping with scheduling, assigning tasks, appropriately elevating issues and training.

Key Initiatives & Regulatory

  • Working with the Director, Business Development, HP&S, develop a multiyear strategic plan and identify key initiatives to drive sales and operating margin growth.
  • Working with the Director, Business Development, HP&S, develop a yearly budget.
  • Conduct regular business reviews related to key performance indicators with Director
  • Maintenance, compliance and renewal of Medical Device Establishment License (MDEL).

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • At least 13 years of experience working at a manager level or above
  • At least 3 years of experience working in the medical supplies and devices industry or within a similar industry (pharmaceutical, medical, dental, nursing)
  • Ability to work effectively under mínimal supervision
  • Must own or have unlimited access to a reliable vehicle and be comfortable driving long distances in all weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to travel 3050% of the time with overnight stays (air travel and some evenings/weekends will be required)
  • Experience in a sales role would be an asset
  • Proficient in sales and negotiations
  • Strong work ethic and deadline orientated
  • Excellent listening and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Intermediate or better experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
  • Strong emotional intelligence and respects diversity

  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and influence change on others
