Air Canada is looking for an experienced technical senior analyst to support IT solutions. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and third-party service providers to shape the future business application support model for the airline brand.
Exciting times are ahead for IT at Air Canada, with transformative projects in progress. This is a special opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the airline's growth by enhancing customer interactions, processes, insights, and satisfaction. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Application Development and Maintenance.
Responsibilities- Develop, deliver, and maintain business applications following desired technology and business requirements.
- Act as the main contact in the IT organization for complex requests and issues regarding your application portfolio.
- Configure installations with third-party vendors and promptly address any defects.
- Support planning and monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and IT teams to understand business needs and write project-specific requirements.
- Analyze requirements and systems to translate business needs.
- Create and maintain functional specs, data flow, and process documents.
- Update technical documents and procedures as needed.
- Handle technology complexity and make autonomous decisions on technology best practices.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and IT professionals to design new solutions and services.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT standards for operations, quality, and security.
- Provide support for business analysis and technology integration efforts.
- Develop technical capabilities within the project team.
- Support various working methodologies such as Hybrid, Agile, and DevOps.
- Provide backup support for Revenue Management applications.
- A relevant University degree/technical certification or equivalent experience.
- 7 to 9 years of IT technology or operations experience, preferably in the Transportation/Airline industry.
- Proficiency in Revenue Management with direct experience in various software platforms.
- Understanding of ITIL, SDLC, Agile methodologies, Jira, and cybersecurity risk management frameworks.
- Knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, scaling, database analysis, and software interfaces.
- Familiarity with reporting packages, programming languages, and databases.
- Experience in User Acceptance Testing, Quality Assurance, and impact assessments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible, creative, and responsive to user needs.
- Ability to cultivate effective business relationships.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest without needing additional permits or visas.
Preference will be given to bilingual candidates with equal qualifications.
