Key Areas of Responsibility:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation.
  • Work collaboratively with operations management to prepare, define and compile the controls baselines including the development of project schedules, budgets, and track progress against these baselines.
  • Provide operations management with accurate and uptodate cost information to facilitate sound project decision making.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of the project schedule and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within anticipated cost and schedule.
  • Ensure forecasts are prepared and integrated according to Client and Cementation requirements.
  • Monitor planning and project/progress achievements of milestones and using the project schedule generate data and curves for each cost profile.
  • Assist Area Managers in the submission of change management documentation, monitor and track progress.
  • Ensure project coding is communicated to accounting, purchasing, and operations personnel.
  • Monitor timesheet entries to ensure work is distributed to the correct project and subcodes.
  • Monitor purchase orders to ensure purchases are distributed to the correct project codes and subcodes and advise management of any discrepancies, changes or out of scope purchases.
  • Analyze performance data, identify trends, works with operations teams to prepare mitigation plans.
  • Prepare and finalize the closeout reports, including maintaining historical costs and production information with the assistance of the Area Manager.
  • Provide support in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and project baselines.
  • Assist the project team in converting project bids from InEight to a complete, accurate project baseline in JDE and Primavera P
  • Prepare and issue regular progress and status reports, as per Client requirements, or as per Cementation standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in project controls with intermediate level experience in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and estimating.
  • A University degree in a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) designation or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Applied knowledge of cost engineering/cost control, project control principles and earned value principles.
  • Must have extensive experience working on large projects preferably in the mining sector with a sound knowledge of contract principles.
  • Must be proficient with Primavera P6, InEight (Hard Dollar) and intermediate level in Excel.
  • Experience in identifying, monitoring, and reporting project risks.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problemsolving skills.
