Court Services Branch, within the Ministry of Attorney General, provides the citizens of British Columbia with effective, timely, safe and impartial access to justice.

The branch ensures protection and access to court administration with integrity and compassion, while respectfully working together as an engaged team towards the common goal of service excellence.


The Manager, Finance and Administration, is responsible for providing direction to the financial and administrative functions of Court Services Branch.

This includes oversight and review of financial staff and budget processes, providing expert advice to staff and managers and participating in the development of strategic and operational plans for the region.

The Manager is also responsible for overseeing performance-based contract management and establishing accountability frameworks to ensure risk is assessed and mitigated accordingly, and performance measures are established, monitored, and met.


Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or higher in business or public administration, or an accounting designation. An equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in budget preparation and control, resource planning and allocation.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with expenditure controls, revenue and asset control, responsibilities of delegation of financial authorities and FTE staffing measurement control systems.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in strategic planning and business planning, and financial risk management.
  • Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last three (3) years) supervisory/manager experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in human resource management and labour relations interpretations.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience within the justice system, Court Service Branch and/or legal system.
