We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer (f/m/x) who is not only driven by the quality of his/her/their work, but is also eager to learn and share knowledge within our team. This role is a unique opportunity to be the driving force in establishing our company's data engineering landscape. As the successful candidate, you will become part of an international, cross-functional team of seasoned software engineers and ML researchers based in Barcelona and Vienna, playing a pivotal role in developing our next generation of award-winning, AI-powered products.

Your Tasks:
  • Drive the transition of Partium's data efforts from traditional models to a big-data-centric approach, fostering a mindset shift towards innovative data representations and storage techniques.
  • Design and implement efficient (big-)data ingestion and processing workflows tailored for Partium's specific needs.
  • Collaborate within the cross-functional team implementing data pipelines, aggregation and management of data coming from multiple sources, often processed and enriched using generative AI.
  • Develop robust solutions for data annotation, transformation, wrangling, versioning, structuring, and integration, ensuring high data quality and accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain a secure and private data infrastructure, addressing IP protection concerns and complying with relevant regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of analytics capabilities, providing valuable insights into customer behavior and product trends.
Your Profile:
  • At least 3 years of experience delivering backend applications/services in a data-intensive big-data environment.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing enterprise-level data architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies and tools (e.g. Apache Beam and Airflow, Hadoop, Spark, Delta Lake, and similar).
  • Experience in collecting requirements and creating data modelling designs.
  • Experience with Python or motivation to learn Python.
  • Experience with infrastructure and deployment tooling for large systems.
  • Solid understanding of software design for distributed systems.
  • Good communication skills in English (optional: Spanish, German).
  • Ability to work in an agile, multinational and cross-functional environment.
