With direction and supervision from the executive director, the recreation and wellness coordinator plans and executes a program of intramural, recreational, and wellness events and activities to enrich the student experience.

The recreation and wellness coordinator shares a reporting relationship with the executive director.

Duties
In particular, the recreation and wellness coordinator performs the following duties:

Intramurals, Recreation, and Wellness (90%)

  • Plans and executes research and student engagement activities to determine students' priorities and preferences for active, outdoor, and wellness activities.
  • In consultation with student leadership, develops and executes an active and outdoor activity program of studentled oncampus and offcampus activities to encourage physical activity among students of all ages, skills, and abilities.
  • In consultation with student leadership, develops and executes a wellness program of studentled mental health initiatives to encourage positive, destigmatizing conversations and preventive care respecting mental health.
  • Executes all logístical, administrative, and behindthescenes aspects of activities within the portfolio, including space and calendar bookings, catering orders, equipment bookings, and supply purchases.
  • Working closely with the communications team, supports the development and execution of communications and outreach activities to promote active, outdoor, and wellness activities within the portfolio to students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from the university's Student Success and Athletics & Recreation areas to ensure the coordination of activities, a coherent student experience, and the smart use of resources and people.
  • Supports the development of studentled active, outdoor, and athletic clubs and associations, including by assisting in the processing of service and funding requests made by clubs and associations within the portfolio.
  • Working closely with the executive director, evaluates active and outdoor activities for risk and, as assigned, attends and supervises moderate
- and high-risk active and outdoor activities to ensure the safety of participants.

Other Duties (10%)

  • Works safely, in accordance with the CSU's health and safety policy.
  • Protects the personal information of coworkers, students, and the public.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the executive director.
