A general contractor with a presence across Canada is looking to bring on an experienced Superintendent to help run a low-rise luxury residential development in South Vancouver

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

With 75+ years of experience in building industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects across Canada, this general contractor has established themselves as a reputable, innovative, and trusted construction company. In addition to their presence in Canada, they have operated internationally on large ICI projects.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

In this position you will be going in mid project and be involved in the construction and finishing of multiple buildings from the ground up. You will be reporting to the General Superintendent. This project is due to finish late 2025 and the client has projects in the pipeline on completion of this one.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As the Senior Superintendent you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, some of your typical tasks are listed below:

  • Manage and direct construction crews, subcontractors, and other personnel on-site. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
  • Monitor the quality of work and materials used on the site. Regular inspections to ensure work is being conducted to the required quality.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on-site. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to prevent accidents and mitigate risks.
  • Work in conjunction with the Project Manager to coordinate and oversee all aspects of the construction project, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about the progress of the construction project. Prepare regular reports detailing project milestones, budget updates, and any issues or challenges encountered.
  • Liaise with project owners, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and ensure that project objectives are met.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses for the construction project and ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and zoning requirements.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during the construction process, such as design changes, logistical challenges, or unexpected delays. Implement creative solutions to keep the project on track and within budget.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years experience as a Superintendent
  • Complete projects from start to finish.
  • Concrete low/high rise project experience
  • Experience using Procore.
  • Knowledge of local code and regulations in BC

COMPENSATION

  • $140K - $170K DOE
