Child Welfare Worker (Full-Time)

Overview:The Child Welfare Worker is responsible for a wide range of child welfare services, such as intake, assessment, and clinical intervention for children and families. They handle investigations, emergency services, court applications, and ensure the well-being of children in their homes or care. Workers are typically assigned to specific service streams but may occasionally work in different streams.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Provide various child welfare services like intake, assessment, and clinical intervention.
  • Conduct investigations, offer emergency services, make court applications, and meet children's needs in homes or care.
  • Possess knowledge on relevant legislation, ministry regulations, agency policies, and procedures.
  • Document work as per agency, ministry, and legal standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, agencies, and professionals to provide services to children and families.
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency and effective oral and written communication skills.

Requirements:
  • Awareness of Indigenous issues is an advantage.
  • S.S.W. Diploma, B.S.W., or M.S.W. degree required (Equivalent qualifications and experience may be considered).

Mandatory:
  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver's License with access to a reliable vehicle and specific insurance coverage.
  • Clear criminal and vulnerable sector checks, internal records check, and clean driver's abstract.
