Accounting Technician_
We are currently seeking a well-organized, enthusiastic person to join our team
- Job Responsibilities:_
- Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions for various clients
- Perform monthend and quarterend close process
- Prepare personal tax returns and T4s
- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable and accrued liabilities for various clients
- Communicate with Canada Revenue Agency regarding information requests, assessments, and installments
- Assist with preparation of working papers and supporting documents for audit engagements
- Preparation of compilation and review engagement working paper files
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as required
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as required
- Some administrative duties required
- Education and Experience:_
- Minimum 2year diploma in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting
- Experience in public practice considered an asset
- Ability to use Quickbooks Online, Xero, Sage Business Cloud, and Sage 50 accounting software preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work well with clients and colleagues
- Strong selfmanagement skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and to meet critical deadlines
