Wood is looking for an Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer or Technologist in Edmonton and Calgary, AB to join our busy and growing Oil & Gas Canada team due to growth in our business

Please note this role will work our standard office hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Assures compliance with Engineering Procedures and quality control standards
  2. Interfacing with various engineering disciplines and suppliers
  3. Specifying, selecting and sizing field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level), Control Valves, on/off valves and PSV's
  4. Preparing and reviewing instrument lists (I/O, instrument index, load lists, etc)
  5. Development of Material Take Offs (MTO's)
  6. Selection and procurement of controls hardware (DCS/PLC/FGS)
  7. Preparing and checking Instrument Loop diagrams as well as control cabinet design / wiring
  8. Responsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines
  9. Providing input to P&ID development
  10. Design, development, and technical content of the I&C portion of project work
  11. Have frequent contact with vendors
  12. Plan, Coordinate and Prepare Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and Award Recommendations for various equipment within instrumentation and controls
Requirements:
  • Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelors in Science, Engineering from an accredited University or College
  • Minimum of 4 + yrs. Industry experience
  • Good understanding and familiarity of API, ASME and CSA, codes and directives
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector is preferred
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools) is an asset
  • Registration through APEGA as a /. (ENG) is an asset
