Job Summary:

The Production Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations, overseeing the people, safety and performance of the plant.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive Safety to be engrained in the culture of all plant employees
  • Responsible for performance management evaluation process for the plant employees, both salaried and hourly
  • Ensure teamwork, accountable for staffing plan, and responsible for developing supervisors, cell leads
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards and keeping training up to date for all employees
  • Develops or revises standard operational and work practices and observes workers to ensure
- compliance with standards

  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing problems to ensure to improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime
  • Pulls from all resources to ensure that continuous improvement is engrained in the workforce culture
  • Ensure record keeping is done in timely manner
  • Inspection of all equipment to ensure proper working order
  • Responsible for maximizing scrap utilization

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in metal casting or related industry
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be flexible for shift work shifts rotate from day to night and vice versa
  • Availability to travel in a lower capacity may be required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of casting process, operation of equipment, metal alloys and standards, use of precision instruments and customer orders and specifications from previous work experience
  • Minimum of five years' proven experience to use various systems to track, understand, report and improve on all dept targets based on demonstrated experience from previous work experience

Competencies:

  • Ability to function successfully in a fastpaced, changing work environment
  • Able to work in extreme heat or cold conditions
  • Must be able to handle both large pieces and small pieces of metal material
  • Individual must be able to have good vision or corrective lens to see visual defects
