The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is currently seeking to fill the role of Security Awareness Specialist.

The Security Awareness Specialist creates and executes communication strategies, awareness initiatives, and training programs in alignment with the strategic objectives of the House of Commons.

Collaboration with various working groups, including the Senate, the Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS), and other security partners on Parliament Hill, is crucial to develop integrated campaigns.

Moreover, they present innovative solutions to enhance awareness among Members of Parliament, their staff, and House Administration personnel regarding best security practices, both on Parliament Hill and in constituency offices.

Requirements:

  • Training and development opportunities.
  • University degree in teaching, communications, marketing, or a related field OR an acceptable mix of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and overseeing security programs.
  • Experience in creating awareness materials, tools, training content, and communications.
  • Experience in conducting briefings, awareness sessions, or training sessions.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality services in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Experience in providing guidance to senior executives, project teams, and working groups.

Assets:

  • Proficiency in Publisher, Adobe Design, Captivate, Photoshop, Visio, Camtasia, and other relevant tools.

Each bilingual position is categorized with a language proficiency level for reading, writing, and speaking skills in the second language.
