CancerCare Manitoba, headquartered in Winnipeg with satellite locations throughout Manitoba, is a provincial agency providing clinical and academic services and leadership for cancer control and the treatment of blood disorders.
- gain a broad range of clinical experiences within the Department of Medical Physics to implement new clinical programs
- provide clinical and technical support for the radiation oncology program
- depending on your expertise, support, mentor, and supervise students in the University of Manitoba's CAMPEP-accredited medical physics graduate or clinical residency program
- contribute to research and teaching
Manitoba is a diverse province of over 1.2 million people. The province supports four universities, a large community college and an excellent school system. Manitobans enjoy a true four-season climate. Summers are long and hot; lakes and beaches are plentiful.
From November to March, the province becomes a winter wonderland; snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and skating on the rivers and in parks are an enjoyable pastime.
Numerous festivals are held throughout the year.Attractive, inexpensive housing can be found in reasonable proximity to the facility, while other costs of living, such as utilities and car insurance tend to be lower in Manitoba than elsewhere in Canada.
- MSc in Radiotherapy Physics; PhD an asset
- Minimum of 2 years clinical training experience in radiation oncology physics beyond postgraduate degree; additional clinical work experience beyond 2 years an asset
- MCCPM certification or eligibility to apply
- Experience with the following: linacs (with mounted kV imaging systems), CTsimulators, treatment planning systems, HDR brachytherapy and MRI
- We are actively growing our research program; a strong research track record and interest in pursuing research in a collaborative environment is an asset.
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
- Excellent English language proficiency, both written and verbal
- Willingness to work evenings or weekends as required
