Work Status: Full time (onsite)

About the Role:

Reporting to and working closely with the Manager of Radio Technology - Western Division, you will be responsible for managing all technical broadcast related processes for all Vancouver radio stations and the Corus Radio Network (CRN) distribution from Vancouver.

You will contribute by:

  • Supervise, manage, and assign workloads to local engineering support personnel, including studio and transmitter technicians, remote broadcast technicians and multi-role IT/engineering staff
  • Work closely with the IT and Network teams to ensure effective technical support is provided to all departments
  • Ensure broadcast signals are monitored and within current standards
  • Prepare operational budgets and control operational costs within engineering department
  • Prepare capital budgets in concert with senior management
  • Ensure all technical projects are implemented and completed on time and within budget
  • Install, maintain, and repair studio, transmitter, and office facilities /equipment
  • Develop short- and long-term succession plans for engineering department
  • Liaise with building management regarding facility issues, of which will include HVAC, utilities, space maintenance, security, parking, loading dock access and shared service s
  • Rotating on-call duties are required, as is the possibility of some shift work
  • Perform various other duties as required

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Direct radio engineering experience in the role of a Senior or Chief Engineer
  • A degree or diploma, or a minimum of 7 years' experience in a related field
  • High degree of technical competency and strong managerial skills required
  • High degree of expertise and experience with radio technical equipment and processes
  • Extensive familiarity and experience with radio specific and general office computer software
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of Office applications, is a must.
  • Experience in managing and implementing both radio studio and general office construction
  • Ability to easily multitask and shift primary focus in response to changing needs
  • Highly organized and able to make quick and effective decisions under pressure
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
