Job Description:
The Underwriting Department evaluates insurance applications for Creditor Life, Critical Illness, and Term Life Insurance. The main goals include maintaining underwriting standards and ensuring decisions align with claims experiences. This role focuses on underwriting Creditor Life and Critical Illness Insurance distributed through bank branches. Candidates should have at least 5 years of medical underwriting experience or a degree/diploma in health sciences.
- Assess and make underwriting decisions
- Gather risk information
- Support claims department
- Handle claim referrals
- Resolve problems and complaints
- Process underwriter referrals
- Conduct training sessions
- Participate in projects
Education Requirements:
- LOMA Life Underwriting 386
- LOMA Associate Customer Service
- Relevant LOMA courses/designations
- Degree/diploma in Health Sciences
- Minimum 5 years of medical underwriting experience
- Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
