Our Team

The Talent Acquisition team leads Vale's efforts to attract, recruit and hire top talent to meet Vale's short and long-term business goals. Members of this team support a variety of clients across our Canadian Operations while collaborating with each other and contributing towards initiatives designed to deliver best in class Talent Acquisition practices.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Student (Recruitment) to join our Talent Acquisition Team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a 6-month fixed term position. Working a Monday to Friday schedule. The successful incumbent will be required to attend in office/on-site meetings at a frequency determined by their manager. This opportunity will offer 40 hours during school breaks and schedule will be modified to accommodate your school schedule.

As a Talent Acquisition Student, you will have the opportunity to further your development by providing day-to-day support for various projects and initiatives within the Talent Acquisition Team. You will have a holistic and enriching experience like no other, with opportunities to learn and participate in talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, succession planning, leadership development, and more.

Additionally, in this position, you will:

  • Manage assigned recruitment files from start to completion.
  • Including but not limited to making job postings, posting jobs, screening candidates, pre-screen interviews, conducting interviews, candidate selection, presenting offers, completing reference checks, etc.
  • Assist recruitment team in determining sourcing and recruitment strategies.
  • Assist recruitment team in planning recruitment initiatives and events.
  • Manage assigned projects in a manner that meets quality, time, and resource requirements.
  • Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in handling critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
  • Build relationships with people in the business.

About You

Education:

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a Post-Secondary Education.
  • Concentration in Human Resources & Labour Relations is preferred.

Skills:

  • Solid verbal, written and analytical communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel.
  • Proven time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
