Summary
The Dispatcher will plan the delivery and return of equipment efficiently, safely, and quickly. The Dispatcher must maintain an accurate inventory and supervise internal transfers and work orders.

They will have to ensure that technicians are assigned to day-to-day tasks and coordinate the transportation of equipment while abiding by health and safety policies and maintaining regulatory compliance.


What You'll Do - The Role (Responsibilities)

  • Planning, optimizing, scheduling, and routing drivers for pickups and deliveries to customers and vendors.
  • Work closely with the sales department to deliver a great Customer experience.
  • Daily communication with the warehouse team
  • Respond knowledgeably, courteously, and promptly to incoming calls/inquiries.
  • Ensure to have all the necessary equipment at the various sites.
  • Organize transportation (with customers and other TPGS branches)
  • Monitor drivers' hours of service, availability of equipment as well as fleet movement and operations.
  • Deliver the necessary documentation on time and provide explanations to those responsible
  • Support organization's strategy for continuous improvement by providing data and recommendations on operational alternatives and creating efficiencies.
  • Drive cost savings through optimal freight management
  • Help and support for other related tasks.
  • Make quick logístical decisions with customer needs and company profitability in mind.
  • Update driver moves in Dispatch system in a timely manner to provide visibility to customer service and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, coworkers, and customers effectively and professionally.
  • Adhere to safety policies by working in a safe and professional manner, ensuring drivers are following safety procedures.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and practices.
  • Present a professional image to the Company's Customers and suppliers maintaining the highest ethical standard of conduct.
  • Communicate in such a way that will avoid problems and disputes, always putting the Customer (external and internal) first.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as may be required from time to time consistent with this position and the job description and duties set out herein.

What You Need (Requirements)

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • High school graduate and post secondary education.
  • Postsecondary Diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent is an asset.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office modules
  • Working knowledge of CVOR and ELD regulatory guidelines
  • Technical aptitude (engines, control systems, networks, and regulatory codes) is an asset.
  • Maintain a wellorganized and clean work area.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Selfstarter and a team player who can work in a team environment and independently.
  • Being able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Be organized with a particular focus on details.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government, be available for work.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Ability to attend, host and conduct presentations.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 40lbs may be required.
  • Participation in the afterhours on call rotation
