Opportunity Overview

Supporting the RBC Global Financial Crime Program, the Senior Manager of Global Client and Payment Screening will bring their expertise in risk management/compliance processes to help the team achieve top-notch screening programs. The ideal candidate should have experience in AML/Sanctions or risk management systems, understand the impacts of money laundering, corruption, and terrorist financing on financial institutions worldwide. Strong analytical and written communication skills are a must to fine-tune scanning models, document assessments, and offer valuable insights for screening solutions' success. Prior knowledge of SWIFT payments and wire payment screening applications is a plus. This role involves continuous support to the Global Financial Investigations Unit and Global Economic Sanctions.

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and enhance RBC's global client and payment screening models, including developing and updating model white papers and process documents.
  • Document, track, and manage client and model monitoring assessments for screening.
  • Lead SWIFT initiatives to improve cross-border payment processing.
  • Perform reviews of name settings on client and payment screening engines to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct testing and analysis of client and payment scanning models to ensure effectiveness and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze global data elements to identify data quality issues affecting screening solutions.
  • Identify trends in scanning models' performance and suggest improvement initiatives.
  • Support requests related to sanctions, PEP, and media scanning.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify scanning gaps and propose necessary changes.
  • Assist in defining business requirements for screening projects, including feed changes.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in compliance/risk initiatives, preferably in a large financial institution.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Critical thinking skills for evaluating concerns and risks in scanning programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel functions, and willingness to learn data analysis techniques.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements like Sanctions, KYC, AML, and operational risk procedures.
  • Intellectual curiosity and adaptability to drive change and address risks.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, finance, or related field.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with FircoSoft applications.
  • Experience in analyzing AML financial crime and compliance models in banking or financial services.
  • Experience with data extraction, resolution analysis, and compliance tuning methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, and visualization software like Tableau.
