Program Officer New

Reporting directly to the Director, Strategy & Operations, TDRA, this role will lead a number of initiatives that support the overall strategic goals of TDRA, including oversight of a legal working group, management of grants, fellowships and scholarships awarded by TDRA, and playing a key role in the design and implementation of solutions related to raising awareness of research.
The Program Officer will also support the Director in the preparation of materials for various governance meetings, such as impact reports and the review of meeting minutes.
Key Accountabilities
- Management of TDRA Legal Research Working Group, including the scheduling of meetings, setting agendas, monitoring progress on agreements, and ensuring continuous communication among members
- Build and maintain relationships with key legal representatives at each site
- Track metrics related to the activity of the working group
- Liaise with awardees to ensure progress reports are submitted on time
- Assist the Director with the preparation of reports to TDRA governance committees
- Support TDRA's infrastructure projects, including a partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Toronto that aims to increase recruitment to clinical research
- Development of Standard Operating Procedures, in collaboration with applicable stakeholders, as necessary

Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including, lawyers, research and clinical staff and research administrative personnel
- Highly detailoriented with demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and good judgment and effectively work independently while supporting a fastpaced, highfunctioning work environment and monitoring personal and teamlevel deliverables
- Wellhoned time management skills with the ability to efficiently multitask and produce highquality, accurate work while meeting deadlines, maintaining flexibility to changing priorities and remaining solutionfocused. Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects is ideal.
- A strong understanding of research contracts and Research Ethics Board procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Previous demonstrated ability to recruit individuals into research studies and an understanding of the complexities of working with patient populations
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- This position requires ability and flexibility to work on multiple projects, excellent planning and time management skills and the ability to multitask and lead projects with tight deadlines.

This full-time, contract (12 month) position is NOT part of any bargaining unit.
