This is the perfect opportunity for a Public Sector Security Thought Leader to transform the way that VMware Carbon Black (eg "Carbon Black") advises our clients on security strategy.

As we look to optimize the way in which we engage with our customers, security will continue to be an integral component of our overall strategy.

Advisement, product alignment, and brand evangelism will be a part of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role.

We need someone with previous experience as a Chief Information Security Officer or similar role in Government to build peer to peer relationships with Public Sector CISOs, speaking and presenting to topics including, but not limited to: endpoint detection and response, risk management, threat management, identity management, vulnerability management, malware/ransomware analysis, incident response, etc.


Success in the Role:
What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?


  • You must understand the top Public Sector initiatives and programs that will drive the greatest revenue for Carbon Black;
  • You will be expected to participate in key events, conferences, and industry meetings (webinars, Forums, trade shows, presentations)
  • You will be expected to work with key VMware partners, customers and employees to enhance the current VMware security narrative
  • You will align Carbon Black products to best fit customers security needs
  • Successfully drive Carbon Black security adoption in the Public Sector
  • Be recognized as council for customers interfacing with C-Level security professionals (CIO, CISO, or Public Sector equivalent)

The Work:
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?


  • Publish materials online related to Carbon Black security solutions and assist with proposal and whitepaper writing
  • You will participate in public speaking events with other security industry experts
  • You will be expected to understand the entire Carbon Black security portfolio and can align customers' needs to the portfolio
  • You will have to investigate risk, design security posture, understand audit processes, and investigate IT systems to ensure security resilience
  • Communicate with internal teams (product and sales) recommendations and enhancements to better align with customer needs

This position will report directly to the Sr Director of Public Sector Security.
