As a member of the Materials team, the Shipper/Material Handler role involves reporting to the Materials Manager. Responsible for receiving goods and shipping completed products, it is crucial to perform the tasks in compliance with Stackpole International's Health & Safety policies, procedures, and quality systems.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work from shipping report, ship list, and advisement from ship coordinator to prepare shipments.
  • Perform secondary operations such as tumbling, oil impregnating, steam treating, and packing.
  • Safely transport properly identified material from process to process and store in the appropriate location.
  • Communicate with operators and observe parts requirements to ensure a continuous supply of material for secondary operations.
  • Handle shipping, receiving, moving, and storing materials consigned to and from Stackpole International.
  • Collect and dispose of various materials like scrap bins, floor sweepings, and scrap powder.
  • Prepare load sheets and load trucks for outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare shipping documents, sign out loads, distribute paperwork, and generate/send ASN's.
  • Follow-up on the transmission of ASN within designated timelines.
  • Receive and inspect goods for content and damages, and issue required reports.
  • Weigh, label, and package outgoing products according to specifications.
  • Complete parts traceability tags for products packed and returned to the quality department.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including yard and storage areas.
  • Perform daily maintenance lift truck checks.
  • Assist in processing parts during absenteeism or as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management and Safety Systems.
  • Other duties as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications:

  • Must have legible writing skills to complete product description tags and assist in inventory counts.
  • Must be physically fit to handle items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Awareness of safe lifting techniques and forklift operation required.
  • Previous forklift experience considered an asset.

Technical & Skill Requirements:

  • Lift truck license required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Requires walking, driving a tow motor for extended periods.
  • Job demands concentration in a busy, fast-paced setting.
