SSR Mining - Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Tire Technician.

About Your New Role:


Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, the Tire Technician, will work with the Maintenance team and be responsible for providing tire repair support and expertise.


You will have a thorough knowledge of OTR tire repair and the motivation to work in a challenging environment with mínimal supervision.

You will use technical and practical knowledge and will follow instruction, utilize shop and adhering to safety standards. You will be required to establish and maintain a standard of service and quality.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing the surface and underground mechanical equipment tires in a timely and financially responsible manner.
  • Interpreting work orders and technical manuals.
  • Determine extent of repair required.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work on tire machine.
  • Responsible for making recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and react to urgent operational needs.
  • Inspecting and assessing tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality, and overall health.
  • Recommending appropriate repair treatment or replacement of tires.
  • Repairing punctures and replacing faulty valves.
  • Installing new tires.
  • Conducting inventory and maintaining equipment.
  • Conducting roadside repair.

Your Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of tire patterns and material composition.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a crouched or standing position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, rapidly changing environment.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential.

Your Education and Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in OTR.
  • Experience in Formfilling Tires.
  • Work experience as a Tire Technician.

About Our Working Conditions:


This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
