Located in Barrie and reporting to the Manager of International Business Development and Projects, the incumbent develops and delivers a high school level course titled "International Economics" in a non-credit international program. The course is scheduled and delivered in-person during the day (2-4 hours per week from October 7, 2024, to November 29, 2024).Specific duties include but are not limited to:


• Facilitating the "International Economics" high school level course in a non-credit international program

• Developing and delivering curriculum to meet course objectives, focusing on key topics like unemployment, inflation, and economic growth

• Giving a home written assignment involving 5 student hours on the destination country's economy, covering economic growth, unemployment, and inflation

• Incorporating a variety of facilitating / learning strategies to meet student needs

• Evaluating student progress / achievement

• Participating in program and college activities as required

• Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required

• Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment

• Participating in student events (orientation and graduation)

Qualifications:


• Successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline

• Minimum of 2 years high school facilitating experience (Grade within private and/or public sector organization

• Experience embracing change and leading innovation

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to life-long learning

• Computer literacy: MS Office

• Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students

• Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies

• Teaching and Training certification and / or experience in a facilitating or training capacity is an asset

Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
