Head of People

At Shakepay, we have a unique community of over a million shakers (our customers) who are truly passionate about our brand and bitcoin. This role focuses on our 75+ employees. As the Head of People, you will lead the development, management, and oversight of the People team. We want Shakepay to be the ultimate workplace in Canada, and you will play a key role in making this vision a reality.

You will
  • Define the people strategy at Shakepay
  • Create and implement new company policies and enhance existing internal People Operations systems
  • Develop metrics to measure success and regularly report to senior leadership
  • Manage a team responsible for daily people operations, talent acquisition, and culture initiatives
  • Establish the foundation for people and culture initiatives, including enhancing performance management and continuous learning
  • Devise strategies to maintain and strengthen our culture as we expand
Must haves
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in People Operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a mission-driven mindset
  • Ability to align business goals with HR strategies
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience with the capacity to drive change throughout the organization
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Deep knowledge of HR compliance requirements and Canadian employment laws

Nice to have

  • Experience in a startup or high-growth tech company
  • Background as an HRBP, handling various tasks such as talent acquisition and learning & development
  • Skills in developing employee engagement and wellness programs for a positive work environment
