Team Leader - Operations


Kent Line Ltd is a well-established Canadian based agency that provides customers with Marine Transportation Service solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of their clients.

We provide agency & warehousing services to a wide range of customers in Atlantic Canada. Kent Line has been a proud member of the Irving Group of Companies for more than 65 years. We value people and teamwork, and we seek and develop the very best talent.

The Key Focus of the role is to lead and motivate a small team while coordinating all marine operations, and administrative functions associated with individual vessel calls to assigned Port of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a safetyfirst culture.
  • Key player in delivering short term and longterm operational strategies to accelerate business growth.
  • Coach, train, develop and lead staff.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with billing procedures, followup, and completion of requests
  • Procure operation, agency, and administrative services for assigned marine vessels
  • Exercise high quality vendor service management and cost control

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or equivalency.
  • 23 years of relevant leadership experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a challenging, fastpaced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, which includes evenings, weekends and other as required.
  • Previous experience in the marine agency field would be considered an asset
