Renovation Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Address Customer Requests for Maintenance (CRFM's) within 72 hours.
  • Fix it right the first time
  • Vacant suite maintenance, renovations, and touch-ups following established quality standards
  • General common area and building maintenance
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and reporting
  • Ensure contractors adhere to schedules and complete work as per contract conditions
  • Assist with necessary snow removal
  • Perform touch-up painting in common areas
  • Maintain accurate inventory management
  • Respond to on-call emergency maintenance based on provided schedule
  • Complete all necessary administration tasks using a tablet
  • Perform other assigned duties by the Leader

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of renovation experience
  • Mold Remediation and Asbestos Abatement certifications are advantageous

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with using computer tablets is essential

Proficiency in 60% of the following skills is essential:

  • Drywall - Framing installation/repair, drywall installation/repair
  • Tiles - Tub surround and backsplash installation/repair
  • Painting and finishes - cleaning, sanding, priming, painting, working on textured surfaces
  • Countertops - repair/replacement of all types of countertops
  • Floors - subfloor replacement, laminate/carpet/tile repair or replacement, baseboard installation/repair
  • Doors/Windows/Cabinets - repair/replacement of closet, interior, and exterior doors and frames, window coverings/locks/hardware, passage/lockset installation/repair, cabinet repair/replacement
  • Plumbing - basic plumbing, installation and repair of various fixtures, soldering, clearing blocked lines
  • Electrical - installation and troubleshooting of light fixtures, switches, and receptacles
  • Skills in Basic Boiler/Heating, Furnace, Locks, and Appliance repair are a bonus

Non-Technical Requirements:

  • Valid driver's licence and a personal vehicle are mandatory
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Effective planning, organizational, and multitasking skills (excellent time management)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and assertiveness
  • Ensure possession of all required tools listed during the interview
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, lift, and handle weight up to 90kg with appropriate equipment
